ABOUT ME

A designer who listens to users — & understands the business goals behind the product.

I grew up making things, breaking them, and asking why people do what they do and use what they use. That turned into me majoring in Human-Centered Design and Development, minoring in Digital Media Trends and Analytics, a few internships, and a very specific point of view: the best product decisions are the ones where users and the business both win.

My work sits at the intersection of user research, thoughtful design, and problem-solving. Through coursework, internships, and personal projects, I’ve explored how people interact with products: from redesigning websites for clearer experiences to conducting user research to uncover pain points and opportunities. I’m especially interested in turning user insights into decisions that create better experiences.

Currently looking for UX Research, Product Design, or Consumer Insight internship roles where I can combine research, design, and curiosity to build better products.

MY APPROACH

Four ideas that shape how I design.

The user's problem and the business's problem are usually the same problem in different sentences. My job is to write the version that solves both.
  1. I.

Products aren't designed for ideal conditions

I design for confusion, uncertainty, and the messy reality of how humans actually use technology. I always anticipate non-ideal states.

  2. II.

Information architecture makes or breaks a product

Every interface either reduces mental effort or taxes it. I prioritize clarity, hierarchy, and intuitive flow even before thinking about visual polish.

  3. III.

Every design decision is a tradeoff

Every UX decision has gains and losses. A cleaner interface may mean hidden functionality. My goal is to understand those tradeoffs and make intentional decisions.

  4. IV.

Users don't leave with a product; they leave with a feeling

Every interaction leaves an emotional impression; that's why psychology matters. Users either leave feeling better or worse than when they came.

Julia’s been a great addition to the Luv or Pop team. She’s a self-starter who’s extremely motivated with a solid product intuition. Her ability to condense qualitative and structured data and communicate succinctly and effectively rivals senior product managers and researchers.
